Old Louisville Map

Louisville, Kentucky

Old Louisville is the third largest Historical Preservation District in the U.S. because of its sheer amount of restored Victorian homes, being the area with the most of them in the country. These houses are considered the most beautiful preserved homes in the city. With their age and grandeur these 48 city blocks feel like a suburb from the 1870s when they were built. Though the area can be considered a museum in and of itself, history buffs will be enthralled with the actual museums in Old Louisville too, such as the Conrad-Caldwell House and the Filson Historical Society. Magnolia and oak trees surround the neighborhood, and between them and the architecture one can find inns and bed and breakfasts with dining options for days.
